Microsoft Flight Simulator for Xbox Series S/X: Release Date

Microsoft says that Blinx’s and Crimson Skies’ Game Pass releases aim to celebrate 20 years of Xbox. Microsoft’s original console turns 20 years old in November, but fans will get to revisit the 4D action-platforming of the time-sweeping cat and the alternate history combat of those classic Xbox games all summer long. About Microsoft Flight Simulator

The most recent member of one of the longest-running simulation games, Microsoft Flight Simulator released back on August 18, 2020. The first game of the franchise premiered almost 39 years ago and Microsoft has been developing the series for a long time.

The last title offers a magnificent experience thanks to its technology of utilizing simulated topography, 3D photorealistic models and brilliantly designed planes. These are probably the reasons why the game is not launching on Xbox One. Even the most advanced PC systems have a hard time when it comes to launching the immersive simulator.Back in December 2020 Microsoft revealed that it will be making Microsoft Flight Simulator available on the Xbox Series S/X consoles.

Microsoft didn't reveal how well Microsoft Flight Simulator will perform on the next-gen consoles. We also highly doubt that the trailer was fully captured on the Xbox Series X as per Microsoft's claims.

Not that we don't trust Microsoft. We just know that Flight Simulator is a taxing game. Even on a PC with the RTX 3080ti will struggle to play Flight Simulator at 4K, which Microsoft claims was the resolution that the E3 2021 ran at. Of course, we could be wrong. Asobo Studio could have done an amazing job at porting the game to DirectX 12 and make it play just as well on the Xbox Series S/X.

Just in case you haven't watched the trailer yet or you weren't paying attention, the list of the fastest planes in Microsoft Flight Simulator is about to get bigger.

Microsoft confirmed that Microsoft Flight Simulator will be getting a free DLC later this year. The additional content will be part of its collaboration with Paramount Studios to help promote Tom Cruise's upcoming sequel to the 1986 movie, Top Gun: Maverick.
